“The retreat in June, where can I even start?! Throughout the retreat, from worship, to scripture and note taking, even during lunch; I felt a pull from Holy Spirit. I wasn’t sure what it meant but He was stirring, eager for me to drop all of my walls, so that he could move in. Then came the feet washing-instant anxiety with a knot in the pit of my stomach. “How can I allow any of these women to wash my feet? I AM NOT WORTHY OF THAT KIND OF LOVE AND SERVICE!” As Mrs. Cathy started washing my feet I closed my eyes and in tears I fought myself. I wanted to ask her to stop, I wanted her to stand up and walk away. The Holy Spirit spoke through Cathy and said to me, “Dixie you have been delivered from so much.” I opened my eyes and saw Jesus washing my feet. DELIVERED from a life time of feeling unworthy, unforgiven, disgusting. In the moment, Jesus washing my feet, I was free to see myself how God sees me-perfect and flawless because of the blood Jesus shed on the cross. I left the retreat delivered, walking in a sealed covenant, bound together with PAPA. Thank you JESUS!
